Copper has been pressed to human skin for thousands of years, by Egyptian queens, by Roman soldiers, by every generation of women who came before us. Worn quietly, daily, without ceremony.

Holistic Copper began at a workbench, with Petra. She learned copper from her grandmother's habit long before she learned it as a craft, and after thirty years at the bench she still shapes every piece by hand, one at a time. Solid 99.9% copper. Nothing plated. Nothing hidden.

Every detail matters to her: the weight, the finish, the purity. Because the women who wear these should know exactly what they are putting on.

My Grandmother Wore Copper Every Single Day

Never took it off. Not in the shower, not when she slept, not even at her wedding.

We called it superstition. She called it habit.

She wore copper the same way her mother did, and her mother before her. It was never a decision, just the thing she reached for every morning before the kettle had even boiled, the same worn bangle sliding onto the same wrist it had sat on for fifty years.

As a girl I thought it was old-fashioned. I wanted gold, shiny things, whatever the other girls had. Hers was dark in the creases and soft pink where her skin had polished it, and I could not see the point of a piece of jewellery that changed colour and never sparkled.

For years I didn't understand it. Then one afternoon, long after she was gone, I really looked at that bangle. Nearly black in the hammer marks, mirror-bright exactly where her thumb had rested a thousand times a day. It was not jewellery. It was a record. You could see her whole life in the way the metal had worn.

And I understood what she'd had all along, and what I think most of us have lost: one small ritual, done without thinking, that tied her to her mother, her grandmother, and every woman before them. Three thousand years of women doing the same simple thing every morning.
